So You’ve Installed Infinity. Now What?

Time to start using Infinity!

Congratulations! You’ve now got a turbo-charged Infinity-powered WordPress installation. With the theme installed and activated it’s time to start learning about the Infinity Dashboard. You can use this guide to learn the basics of customizing your Infinity website.

Note: don’t forget – you should have activate the Infinity Skelton theme. This is a child theme of Infinity. Never edit the main Infinity files – always work on a child!

The Infinity Dashboard

When you activate Infinity you’ll be navigated to the Infinity start screen. This is located at Appearance > Infinity Skeleton Options so if you’re ever feeling lost just find that menu item. To load the options click on the Options button at the top right hand side of the Dashboard. the infinity dashboard menu with the options highlighted You’ll also find links to User Docs and Developer Docs, should you need them.

The Options Panel

On the left hand side you’ll see your navigation – you can use these options to customize the Infinity Skeleton theme. Let’s take a look at some of the options you can use to make the Infinity Skeleton Theme your own!

Change the Logo

To change the logo go to Header > Logo the infinity navigation with the header, logo item highlighted Click on the Select File button. the upload logo option The logo will upload. the logo uploaded to the infinity dashboard Note: you need to save the option to see the changes on the front of your website. Clicking on the edit button will let you make edits to your logo image. There are additional changes that you can make to your logo:
  • Change the logo position
  • Alter the top, left and right spacing
When you’re happy, click the Save Options. Here’s my logo on the front end. the logo on the front end. The Infinity banner does not match the logo Not looking too nice, right? Let’s fix that by changing the header.

Change the Header

On your Infinity Dashboard, navigate to Header > Background Color the infinity navigation menu with the background color section highlighted. Choose a new background color. Save and the header color will change! You can also add a background image to your header by visiting Header > Background Image

Time to Play

Now that you’ve edited a few essential options, you should play around with the other settings in the Infinity Dashboard. Here are a few awesome things you can do:
  • Add a favicon
  • Add overlay images
  • Edit your menu design
  • Change font colors
  • Change your website layout
  • Add global CSS
  • Add Google Analytics tracking code
  • Plenty more!
